Personal Information Privacy Policy

MetaTheater Co.Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) holds the personal data of its MetaTheater.live users (hereinafter referred to as the “Members”) to the upmost importance. Through this Personal Information Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Privacy Policy”), we inform our and security measures the Company implements to safeguard Members of the purpose and manner for which their personal data is being used the personal data following Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

Article 1 Purpose of collecting and using personal information
The Company collects personal information for the purposes stated below. The information collected will not be used for purposes other than those stated, and should the purpose of usage change, the Company will ask for additional consent of the Members following Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

1. Website membership and maintenance

Signing up for membership, service usage, customer service, confirmation and prevention of fraudulent usage, and refund and exchanges

2. Providing goods and services
Providing service and contents, sending receipts and agreements, identity verification, age verification, product shipping, product payment, and analysis and statistics.

3. Customer service 
Respond to your comments, questions, and requests, and provide customer service.
Article 2 Use and retention period of personal information

In broad terms, we will only use and retain your personal information for as long as is necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. This means that the retention periods will vary according to the type of personal information and the reason that we have received the personal information in the first place.

Use and retention period of personal information is as follows.

1. Website membership and maintenance: Until the cancellation of the Member’s account. However, in case of any of the following, until the termination of respective case:
1) In case of investigation and research on activities on the Service that may violate the Terms of Use, invade other’s copyrights or be considered illegal, until the termination of the respective investigation 
2) In case of remaining depts and bonds related to usage of the Service, until the settlement of debts and bonds

2. Providing goods and services: Until the goods · services are delivered, and payment is completed. However, in case of any of the following, until the termination of respective time period:

1) Records of transactions, such as marking, advertising, contract details and performance, under the 「Consumer Protection Act in Electronic Commerce」, etc.
- Records on marking and advertising: 6 months
- Supply record of contract or subscription withdrawal, payment, goods, etc.: 5 years
- Records on handling consumer complaints or disputes: 3 years

2. Storage of communication fact-checking data under Article 41 of the 「Communication Secret Protection Act」

- Data on the date and time, start and end of the subscriber's telecommunication, number of subscribers, frequency of use, location of the sending base station: 1 year
- Computer communication, Internet log records, and access location tracking data: 3 months
Article 3 Outsourcing of the processing of personal information

The Company outsources the processing of personal information for the smooth provision of services, and the Outsourced Processors handling personal information are as follows.

- AWS: Building and maintaining hosting systems
- Eximbay: Payment, purchase safety service, etc.

※ The list of Outsourced Processors may be changed depending on change of service and contract period.

The Company is responsible for recording information on prohibition of processing personal information other than for outsourced works, on technical and management protection measures, re-entrustment restrictions, management and supervision of damages, etc. in accordance with Article 25 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

Should the details of the outsourced work or Outsourced Processors are changed, the Company will disclose the information through this Privacy Policy without delay. 
Article 4 Members’ rights and choices

Members may exercise the following personal information protection rights against the Company at any time.

1.	Request access personal information 
2.	Request correction in case of errors, etc. 
3.	Request deletion 
4.	Request suspension of processing

The exercise of rights under paragraph (1) may be carried out in writing, by phone, e-mail, or facsimile (FAX), and the Company will take action without delay.

If the Member requests correction or deletion of personal information errors, etc., the Company will not use or provide such personal information until the correction or deletion is completed.

The exercise of rights under paragraph (1) may be conducted through an agent, such as a legal representative of the Member or a delegated person. In such cases, a letter of attorney under the attached Form 11 of the Enforcement Rules of the Personal Information Protection Act shall be submitted.

The Member shall not violate the Personal Information Protection Act, etc. and violate the personal information of the Member oneself or others.

Article 5 Purpose of collecting and using personal information 
The Company is processing the following personal data.

Article 6 Procedure and method for destroying personal data

In principle, once the personal data’s purpose of collection/use is achieved, the Company destroys the subject personal data without delay in accordance with the respective retention/use period.

In the event that data provided by a Member when he/she signed up for membership must be retained or is permitted to be retained under an applicable law or regulation even after the purpose of collection/use is achieved, the data will be transferred to a separate database.

Procedure and method for destroying personal data are as follows.

1.Procedures for destroying personal data: The Company will select personal data that require destroying, and the data will be destroyed after being approved by the Company’s Chief Privacy Officer.

2.Methods for destroying personal data: If stored in the form of electronic files, the personal data will be destroyed by technical means such as Low Level Format so that the records cannot be reproduced. If printed on paper, the personal data will be destroyed by shredding or incinerating the paper documents.

Article 7 Technical/administrative measures for protecting personal data
The Company is taking safety measures to ensure that personal data is not lost, stolen, leaked, altered, or damaged.

1. Management measures: Establishment and implementation of internal management plans, regular employee training, etc.
2. Technical measures: Management of access rights such as personal information processing system, installation of access control system, encryption of unique identification information, installation of security program
3. Physical measures: Access control of computer rooms, data storage rooms, etc.
Article 8 Matters concerning installation, operation, and rejection of automatic personal information collection devices

The Company uses cookies to save and occasionally search through data related to Members. Cookies are small text files sent from website servers to the user’s computer browser and may be saved within the Members’ PC computer hard disks.

1. Operation of cookies: Provide differentiated information depending on the individual’s area of interest.

2. Members’ options regarding cookies: Members can refuse to save cookies by managing [Tools] menu > [Internet Options] > [Privacy Menu] on web browsers.

3. If the Member refuses to save cookies, they may experience trouble in using personalized services.

The Company has designated a Chief Privacy Officer as below, who is responsible for managing matters related to the processing of personal data and Member’s complaints.

Article 10 Access claims to personal information

The Member may request to access their personal information through the following department of the Company in appliance with Article 35 of the Personal Information and Protection Act. The Company will make efforts to complete the request of the Member quickly.
